The 8th BIM Graduate Design Competition, hosted by the Construction Market and Bidding Research Subcommittee of China Civil Engineering Society (CCES) and Glodon Company Limited, announced the winners of the national network competition recently. The team of Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) won 15 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 5 third prizes, and 2 participation prizes, creating the best result for the university in the event.
The BIM Graduate Design Competition, one of the high-level professional competitions in the BIM industry after years of development, has been selected in the "2020 National Competition Rankings of College Students" released by the China Association of Higher Education. With the theme of "The Wisdom of Future", this year''s competition attracted contestants from more than 550 universities, including 4,600 teams and 20,000 teachers and students, with more than 3,000 works submitted.
The school selection for this competition was coordinated by the Student Affairs Office, organized and implemented by the SCE, and supported by the School of Architecture and Design (SAD) and the School of Electrical Engineering (EE). Since the launch of the competition in October 2021, a total of 26 works have been submitted despite the impact of Covid-19. Finally, students from the SCE, representing SWJTU, won multiple prizes, achieving the best result for the university in this event.
The BIM Graduate Design Competition aims to comprehensively cultivate the ability of innovative thinking and scientific research for college students, fully improve the recognition of digital architecture among college students nationwide, and build a platform for exchange, mutual learning, and demonstration to eventually realize the promotion of teaching, learning and innovation through the competition. In the future, SCE will continue to encourage and support students in taking part in the competition together with the SAD and the School of EE under the coordination of the Student Affairs Office of SWJTU, striving for better results.
