School of Civil Engineering Alumni Association (SCEAA), SWJTU

The School of Civil Engineering Alumni Association of Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) is a non-profit organization that is developed to cultivate the fellowship of alumni. Encouraged by the school spirit of “Persevering in Self-improvement for the Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation; Fortifying Oneself to Ceaseless Pursuit”, the association provides services for and supports alumni programs, facilitates the communication among alumni, and seeks to maintain and strengthen alumni bonds of fellowship, so as to contribute to the development and progress of a worldwide community of alumni, the SCE, and the Chinese nation.

Daily affairs handling: Alumni Association Office

The main responsibility of the Alumni Association Office is to assist the leaders of the School of Civil Engineering in planning, guiding, organizing and coordinating the work related to alumni on campus and around the world, and to deal with the daily affairs of the Alumni Association.

The specific responsibilities are as follows:

1. Make the annual work plan of the Alumni Association and take responsibility of the implementation of the plan.

2. Organize and coordinate the work related to alumni, specifically, to plan the alumni reunions and to assist all the relevant departments in the organization, reception, communication and the publicity work in such reunions.

3. Provide guidance and assistance to alumni at home and abroad to improve the alumni organization building and liaison work.

4. Plan and organize various types of alumni activities in different sectors, assist all the relevant departments in the implementation of such activities, and build up affinity and contacts with alumni.

5. Organize and coordinate the relevant departments within the university to provide services for alumni, and support their continuing education and career development.

6. Leverage the resources of alumni to seek cooperation between alumni and the SCE and their support to the administration of the school (e.g. teaching, research, management, applying of scientific and technological achievements, attracting talents, recruitment and employment, etc.).

7. Call on alumni, faculty and staff to raise funds among alumni and people from all walks of life at home and abroad for the development of the SCE and manage the funds in accordance with the authorization of the school.

8. Strengthen the internal construction of the alumni association, constantly improve employee performance, and strive to build the association as a bridge and linkage between the school and alumni, making the alumni association “Home of Alumni”.
