Li Honghai, Associate Researcher of CABR was Invited for Chuangyuan Lecture
Li Honghai, an assistant to the director of the Institute of Building Wind Resistance, China Academy of Building Research (CABR) Technology Co., Ltd., was invited to give a lecture on Method of Wind Tunnel Test on Snow Load at the Room J4508, Jiuli Campus of Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) at 16:00, May 17, 2021. Zhan Yulin, Deputy Dean of the School of Civil Engineering (SCE) introduced the research background and related experience of Mr. Li. Teachers and students present expressed warm welcome to Mr. Li. Mr. Li Fuhai and graduate students attended this wonderful lecture.
In the lecture, Mr. Li mainly introduced the equipment, theories and technical methods of wind tunnel test on snow load, and related application of snow load analysis of large-span structure and regional buildings. Mr. Li focused on the development and construction of a snowfall simulation device and a laser observation system for the strong wind-blizzard coupling disaster experiment; the similarity theory of the wind and snow coupling simulation experiment; the static experiment and dynamic experiment of wind tunnel simulation on snow load; evaluation of the snow load on the roofs of stadiums and gas stations; and analysis of the environmental coefficient of the snow load and the snow load on the regional buildings. He gave the lecture clearly with great passion, and had in-depth exchanges with the students. All the audience gained a lot from this lecture. At the end of the lecture, teachers and students present expressed their thanks to Mr. Li with warm applause.
Notes: Mr. Li Honghai is mainly engaged in the study of wind load and snow load on building structures. As the project leader, he is in charge of snow load analysis of the roof of many projects, including Beijing Daxing International Airport terminal, Lhasa Kongga International Airport terminal, the Belarusian National Football Stadium, and Hefei Binhu International Scientific Exchange Center. He is also dedicated to wind load analysis of more than 20 projects, including the venue for ski jumping of the Nordic Center for Beijing’s 2022 Winter Olympics, Harbin Central Trade Center, Guilin International Conference & Exhibition Center, Gaobeidian Train New Town, Dark-Sky Park Star Bridge of MCC Real Estate Group Co., Ltd., water photovoltaic power station, Boeing’s 737 Completion and Delivery Center in Zhoushan, Coal Shed of State Grid Baoji Electric Power Supply Company. Moreover, Mr. Li has won the third prize of China Award for Science and Technology in Construction. Mr. Li is also a first-class national registered structural engineer, deputy secretary of Committee of Basis for Design of Structures, China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization (CECS), as well as career development mentor in SCE of SWJTU last year.
